Even if you are, what’s it got to do with me? Well, nothing, really. But I just finished watching a short video by Jim Edwards. He’s the guy who does a lot with video and makes a good living online. His start in the business was like a lot of people’s – no money, bills all over the place and desperation setting in.

He’s made a very good point in his video, which is that making money on the internet is like losing weight. You actually have to do something. You can’t just buy a gym membership and expect to get fit, slim and toned without going and getting a little sweaty. The gym membership card doesn’t do it on its own!

And just buying a course, or report, won’t make you an internet marketer. You actually have to get up off your behind and take some action.

Yes, exactly. Quite a few of us. I daren’t think about how many times I’ve done it and if my wife reads this post she might start looking at my Paypal receipts to find out.

Here’s a startling statistic: I’ve made zero dollars from the products and information I have that never got used.

Like I say, startling.

Here’s another one: I’ve made money when I’ve taken some action and done something.

Man, this internet marketing can be really hard. Of course it’s a bit more subtle than that in reality. Some of the things I’ve actually taken action on haven’t made any money and some didn’t make much money. But collectively they made far more than the stuff I didn’t do.

Jim Edwards is quite right in what he says. You have to take action, or you won’t get a thing. I don’t care how many ‘gurus’ promise you that all you have to do is ‘buy now’ and sit back and watch the money pour in.

It just doesn’t happen that way. Funny thing is, the harder and smarter smart people work the luckier they seem to get. But notice I said smart people and working smarter. You don’t have to do a 96 hour week to make an income online. But you do have to work at it.

Once you’re established and have your streams of income set up it gets easier, but never let anyone fool you that you don’t have to work in the beginning.
