What Do You Want?
I’ve sent out an email to my subscribers to ask them a simple question.
What do you want?
And I don’t mean that in the ‘what do you want out of life?’ way. I mean it literally. What do you want right now?
Once I know what you want, I can provide it for you. The main thing is that you get to shape what that will be by contributing. Just add a comment and let me know what you really want. If it’s within my power to provide it, or go out and get it for you and then provide it, I will.
Fair enough?
And in addition to that I’ll credit everyone who comments with a live link on the next site I put up to handle the download of whatever it is people want. Of course there are some provisos: I’m not going to provide links to gambling and adult sites, or anything that is in the least bit questionable.
If it turns out that what everyone wants is something that has resale rights, I’ll offer those for free (if it’s legal to do so) to the first person who commented and suggested it. Not the first person to post a comment, but the first person to suggest whatever ‘it’ turns out to be.
Let me know what you think, even if you don’t ‘want’ anything right now.

I want a Merchant account like Pay Pal or 2CO
that will automatically split off the commission to my affiliate. When my affiliate places an order the
Merchant Account will charge the credit card, and then send the money to 2 places. 75% to my account and 25% to my affiliates account.
If there is a return on an item the merchant account will deduct my portion from my account and my affiliates portion from his or her account.
2Checkout has this program it is in BETA but they charge 5.5 percent plus + 42 cents.
I think a fair price would be 3.5% +42 cents?
Any suggestions?

well, that’s a tall order as far as I’m aware. Clickbank are about the nearest to what you’re describing, as far as I know, although they’re also very expensive compared to the rates you mention.
You can’t have split payments with Paypal – not the way you’ve talked about, so they’re out and you mention that 2CO is in beta with this. I wasn’t aware of that with 2CO, but then again I’ve only recently signed up with them myself.
Can I ask you if there are any imperative reasons you want an affiliate scheme to operate that way? Or is it for convenience of accounting?
Does anyone else know of a merchant account that operates like this?

Clickbank does indeed work very much like Sean was describing, although it takes a goodly chunk out of your revenue.
There are so many different ways to handle affiliate commission that everyone will have a slightly different take on what will work best for them. In the end you have to go with the nearest fit for what you want.

Those are excellent questions and I think what you suggest would make an excellent training series.
For you, as a newbie, what kind of information seems to work best? Do you prefer a step-by-step report with lots of screenshots, a simple list if instructions, or training videos? Or do you prefer one-on-one help?
I’d be interested to hear what sort of things work for you and if anyone else has some ideas on what they’d want from such a training series please join in.
P.S. Peter, can you tell me exactly how much of a ‘newbie’ you are? Do you have webhosting? Have you installed WordPress yourself? What things do you know how to do already?

I think the kind of information I would like and understand is the step by step instructions with little screenshots. That shows like –click here, open this, do this, paste this there and here kind of direction.
I’m a complete newbie, I only know how to open email accounts.
But am a very fast learner. Am very good in following instructions, I do things that other people will have to be spoon fed.
For instant, my site was blank when I got it, so on my own I installed word Press.
I need to know how to take your adsense site to my site, and how to do the same to other word press themes I have on my PC.After downloading, I find the templates are not whole any more.
And please don’t forget the money aspect too,

In answer to Sean’s question (the first one), doesn’t paydotcom.com work like that? And charge less than Clickbank? I think I read that they do.
What I would like is a thank-you page and sales page for the Facebook report I bought from you. Not for selling resale rights, but just for sellling the book itself. I’d like the kind of page that meets Clickbank’s requirements.

I see that what you’re wanting is very much a ’show me what to do’ rather than just a ‘tell me’. I think most people learn better by being shown, don’t you?
Let me put something together for the Adsense sites and I’ll see what I can do about installing the WordPress themes for you. I think if you see that done you’ll be surprised how fast and easy it is.

Thanks for your input.
The system at PayDotCom does not actually send any money to the affiliate. What it does is calculate everything for you and the affiliate so you can both see how much commission is due.
But you still have to pay it yourself. PayDotCom do let you download a mass pay file that you can use to import into Paypal and pay all your affiliates in one go. That saves typing in all the details for each affiliate, but it’s not quite what Sean said he wanted.
When you say you want a page that meets Clickbank’s requirements, which requirements did you have in mind? Are you talking about the wording on the page, or the actual implementation of the download integration with Clickbank?
That latter is outside the scope of a standard thank you page and you would need some additional software to do it unless you wanted to send customers to an unprotected download page. Of course for some sales that might be ok.
If you give me a little more information of what you were thinking about I’ll see what I can do.
